Before Victoria Rose’s Rehab St. Louis (4054 Chouteau Avenue) was the powerhouse dominating the eastern flank of the Grove, the space had long been home to more modest corner bars with narrower appeal. From the 1990s to 2004, it was Grandma’s Rainbow’s End, a sleepy but colorful place with an older, day-drinking clientele.
