No one seems to know how this road beside a borrow pit pond in northwest Miami-Dade got its name.

Many a mystery haunts the swampy wetlands and sun-baked streets of Miami, and this one confounds even the most well-versed city historians: In northwest Miami-Dade County, where there once stood a thriving town of sugar farmers now lost to time, lies a road with the inexplicable name of “Pizza st,” at least according to Google Earth satellite imagery.
