Congressperson Kathy Manning, a Democrat who represents the District 6, joined the rally which started at the Civil Rights Museum and ended at the Governmental Plaza where speakers told their personal stories and they held a candlelight vigil.

Many families with kids joined the event and members handed out flags that represented different sexualities and gender identities for attendees to wave.

Organizers of the event with Greensboro Pride donated $500 per attendee to the Trevor Project, an organization that provides support for LGBTQ+ youth.
