Over the last week, TCB photo intern Juliet Coen captured scenes throughout the Triad including circus act pop-ups by Greensboro’s latest Artist in Residence, Activate Entertainment, a local circus arts company in downtown, rehearsals with vampyres by the Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, a Korean yard sale and adults letting loose at Barber Park.

The artists with Activate Entertainment will also be rehearsing and performing the week of August 1-6 for the shorter pop-up performances/community engagements as the artists workshop their latest art piece, ‘Passages.’ The final premiere of the fully completed piece will take place Saturday, September 3rd with evening performances in LeBauer Park.

Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, an unconventional professional ballet company is brought back their most awe-inspiring spectacle, Vampyre, a Gothic Tale of Love, Death and Immortality over the weekend at Hanesbrands Theatre. The show is based on The Vampyre, a novella written in 1819 by John Polidori and explores many diverse facets of erotic and romantic love.

For hours, members of the Korean community in Greensboro hosted a yard sale at the Korean Baptist Church on Market Street. Profits from selling street food, clothes and more went back to keeping up the church’s programs.

Summer isn’t just for the kids. Over the weekend, Greensboro’s parks and recreation department hosted an adult recess for those who are young at heart to get out there and play outside.
