Hippies co-opting of physchedlics definitely honored spirituality and creating a whole New Age vision, higher consciousness, and tradition, which is responsible for much of the consciousness we see today in environmentalism, and progressive politics. If society had been able to integrate this higher level of consciousness into the greater society, the world would be in much better shape than it is today. It’s not possible to take mushrooms, peyote, or LSD and not become one with all that is, which is the heart of all true spirituality and religions. Where were you?
