Excising social and community history from our lives is part of the movement sweeping American mostly white, mostly women. Brené Brown, “The Boundaries Book,” a scolding tone on social media urging you toward endless rounds of “self care,” demanding that everyone in our lives have the same “values” (political views), calling people with medical and mental health problems “toxic” because they cannot and will never be able to meet the exacting and perfectionistic standards of the new boundaries and self care influencers.
